As of 22 May 2025, the ERC-2025-AdG (Advanced Grant) call is officially open for applications. The call is expected to close on 28 August 2025. A total budget of €683 million is foreseen to support approximately 276 projects.

Additional Funding Opportunity for Researchers Coming from Outside Europe
Under this call, researchers applying for ERC projects with the aim of relocating to an EU Member State or Associated Country are eligible to request an additional €1 million for “start-up” activities such as setting up a lab, building a team, or purchasing equipment—on top of the standard €1 million start-up support.
For example, a researcher applying to the ERC-2025-AdG call from the United States to relocate to Türkiye may request up to €2 million in additional funding, in addition to the standard maximum grant of €2.5 million—bringing the total potential funding to €4.5 million.
Information Session
An online information session will be held on Tuesday, 27 May 2025, from 10:00 to 12:00. During the session, the ERC National Contact Points will present key updates about the call and explain the application and evaluation processes. The session will include a Q&A section.
